Abstract. A new salaried middle class is emerging in Brazil as a consequence of the Industrial Revolution that began in 1930 - an economic change that has already characteristics of the Second Industrial Revolution in the advanced countries. The representatives of this new middle class occupy middle management positions in large business enterprises, and also in the state.
