The two more important member of the "School of Sociology of São Paulo", respectively Florestan Fernandes e Fernando Henrique Cardoso identified themselves with dependency theory. The former, in A Revolução Buruguesa, with its Marxist "super-exploração" version, the later with the "associated dependency" version, from which was the main author. Both disregard the national problem.
